Case Study: Explorers Early Learning

When Explorers Early Learning came to us, they had an ambitious brief: create a suite of video content across 12 of their centres throughout Melbourne that could work as hard as their brand does.

The result was a full content ecosystem, four distinct video formats, each serving a different purpose, all working together to tell the Explorers story at every stage of the parent journey.

Explorers operates a growing network of early learning centres across Melbourne, from Williamstown to Wallan, Armadale to Clyde North. Each centre has its own community, its own manager, and its own character. But they all share the same philosophy: high-quality early learning built around the Reggio Emilia approach, a child-led, play-based program designed to nurture each child’s individual strengths.

The challenge was creating content that reflected both the consistency of the brand and the individuality of each location.

The strategy was also smarter than a typical video rollout. Explorers wanted to use geolocation targeting within their paid advertising so that when parents searched for childcare in their local area, they were served footage from the centre closest to them. Not a generic brand video. The actual centre they could visit and enrol their child in.

That meant every video had to work on its own. Twelve centres, four formats, one cohesive brand. Here’s how we approached it.

Every content suite needs a foundation, and this was it. The brand video featured Explorers’ CEO, Linda Salvo, speaking directly to camera about building the brand from the ground up, her philosophy around early learning education, and her vision for where the company is headed.

It’s the kind of piece that does something a product video can’t: it puts a human face on the business and gives parents a reason to trust the brand before they’ve ever walked through a door. For a category as personal as childcare, that trust-building is everything.

Before each centre opened its doors, we went in with a gimbal and a drone to capture what parents most want to know: what does this place actually look like?

These 60 to 90 second fly-throughs move through each room with purpose, using artistic transitions to maintain energy and keep the viewer engaged. Aerial drone footage adds scale and context, giving a sense of the full facility and its surroundings before the interior tour begins.

Filming before opening meant no staff or children on site, which worked in the format’s favour. Parents get an uninterrupted, beautifully composed look at the spaces their children would spend their days in. Every room, every age group’s environment, captured with care.

These are the centrepiece of the content suite. Each centre manager introduces themselves on camera, walks parents through their centre, and speaks to what makes their location special.

Running between 90 seconds and two minutes, these videos do something the fly-throughs can’t: they add personality. Parents meet the person who will be responsible for their child’s day. They see the activities, the spaces, and the culture through the eyes of someone who genuinely loves being there.

Woven throughout each walkthrough is carefully captured b-roll of the children at play, laughing with each other, engaging with educators, doing what kids do when they’re somewhere they feel at home. It’s the kind of footage that makes a parent exhale.

From each manager walkthrough, we cut shorter social-ready versions designed for Explorers’ social platforms. They’re purpose-built for a shorter attention span and a different context, each one pulling out a specific aspect of the centre to highlight.

Where the full walkthrough tells the whole story, the social cuts tell a chapter. Together they give Explorers a content library that can run continuously without repeating itself.

Twelve centres. Four formats per centre. A brand video that anchors the whole ecosystem. And a distribution strategy smart enough to make sure the right parents saw the right content at exactly the right moment.

If you run an early learning centre or operate across multiple locations, this kind of content suite does more than look good. It builds the trust that gets families through the door.
